Questions directors usually ask
- How much admin does this add to my staff's weekly load?
- For coaches: recording adds zero incremental time (they hit a button on their phone). Review averages 5-10 minutes per session once coaches get into the rhythm. For directors: near-zero ongoing load: analytics are on-demand, not push-notifications. Most of your involvement happens during initial onboarding and then as-needed conversations with individual coaches when a pattern surfaces worth talking about.
- Can I see every coach in my academy, or just the ones on my staff?
- You see every coach in your organization, plus the sessions, feedback patterns, and player development trends across all of them. Academy-wide visibility is the whole point for directors. If you need role-based scoping (e.g., age-group coordinators seeing only their tier), tell us. We're building that for Academy-tier customers.
- What's the time-to-value? When will we actually see a return?
- You'll see the product working after the first recorded session, usually week one. Meaningful coaching analytics emerge after 4-6 sessions per coach (enough data to show attention distribution, feedback patterns, drift). Parent retention impact, which most directors care about, tends to show up across a season as families receive personalized digests for several weeks.
- Does this replace Hudl or Veo?
- No. It's complementary. Hudl and Veo solve video analysis: what happened on the field, tactically. Coach Sidekick solves the coaching conversation around it: what you said, who you said it to, what happens next for each player. The problems don't overlap: clubs that film keep filming, and they run both.
- How do we get our coaches to actually use it?
- Two things that matter. First: recording has to feel frictionless: coaches need to trust we're not creating busywork. Second: coaches need to see value for themselves, not just for you. The coach analytics (attention patterns, feedback-type distribution) are designed so coaches want to review their own sessions, not just comply. During onboarding we work with each academy to set this up so coaches opt in.
- What data do you store, and where?
- Audio is encrypted and stored on Cloudflare R2 (US-based). Transcripts, feedback, and metadata sit in a PostgreSQL database on Neon (also US-based). Your academy owns all of it. Export is available, and we handle deletion requests promptly. Formal privacy policy and terms of service are being finalized with counsel; reach out if you need current drafts for procurement review.
