Coach Sidekick handles children's coaching, and families and clubs need to trust what it says. This page sets out how we keep feedback true to the coach, and how we handle young players' data: what is live today, and what we are still building with counsel.
True to what the coach said.
Every note shows the words it came from.
A note keeps the coach's quote and the moment in the session it was said. In the Debrief, every mark opens the comment behind it.
A coach approves it before anyone reads it.
Nothing reaches a player or a family until the coach has checked it, and the coach can edit, reassign or remove anything first.
Written summaries are checked against the session.
When the Debrief writes a reflection for a coach, every number and name in it is checked against the session. If a check fails, a plain template is used instead.
What can't be measured is said, not scored.
If part of a coach's plan can't be measured from one session, the Debrief says so instead of inventing a number.
Families never see a score or a ranking.
Any evaluation or tier is recorded by club staff and stays with the club. Families see their own child's notes and drills, never a ranking against teammates.

How we handle young players' data.
What is true right now.
You decide what gets recorded
Coach Sidekick only captures audio from sessions a coach explicitly records. There is no always-on listening and no retroactive capture. If a coach did not record it, it does not exist in the system.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Audio and transcripts are encrypted in transit, and our infrastructure providers encrypt stored data at rest.
Stored in the United States
Audio is stored on Cloudflare R2, and transcripts, feedback, and metadata sit in a PostgreSQL database on Neon. Both are US-based.
A coach approves everything first
Nothing reaches a player until a coach reviews and approves it. The coach can edit, reassign, or remove any piece of feedback before it is released. There is no automatic delivery.
No processing of an under-13 child's data without verifiable parental consent
When a player's date of birth shows they are under 13, our system blocks their audio from being transcribed, analyzed, or shared with our service providers, and blocks them from being invited to the player portal, until a verifiable parental consent is recorded.
Parents can review and delete
From the Family Hub, a parent or guardian can review the information we hold about their child, see the consent history, withdraw consent, and request that the data be deleted.
Private by design
A player's development summary stays within their academy circle: the player, their coaches, and the academy staff who need it. It is never shared with other families, it is not a leaderboard, and it does not rank players against each other.
No cookies, no ad tech on this site
Browsing our public pages sets no cookies and loads no advertising or cross-site trackers. The only measurement is cookieless, aggregate page analytics. A short-lived security cookie appears only when you start signing in; inside the web app, cookies exist solely to keep you signed in, with no analytics. The mobile app sends usage and crash reports tied to an internal id, never a name, and a coach can switch both off in its Settings.

A parent-facing way to provide that consent
The enforcement gate above is live. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we are now finalizing the parent-facing flow that collects and verifies that consent (the verification method and the direct notice to parents) with counsel and a verification provider.
Defined data-retention limits
Today we retain finalized audio and transcripts. We are defining and implementing explicit retention limits so a child's data does not live longer than it needs to.
Counsel review of our policies
We are reviewing our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service with legal counsel who specialize in children's-data compliance and will update them as the capabilities above ship.
